For this year’s Jazz Festival
Every year since 2005 (except for a little blip in the schedule called Covid), jazz devotees have flocked to Greeley for the Greeley Blues Jam. This year’s line up June 2 and June 3, 2023, includes Matt Andersen, Willie Mae, Carolyn Wonderland, Southern Avenue, Threeshots, and Tab Benoit.
Al Bricker and his wife Pam founded the Greeley Blues Jam after visiting the New Orleans Jazz Festival for more than 25 years. New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz. Originally called ragtime and blues, it was the early 1900s when the earliest greats of jazz became known. Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver and Louis Armstrong gained notoriety.
This year’s Greeley Blues Jam will be held at the Island Grove Regional Park at 501 N 14th Ave. The 155-acre park and fairgrounds is within blocks of the Rainbow Motel at 105 N 8th Ave.
